Why the cord is clear, not silver
A metal chain is the thing the eye locks onto first. Take it away and the stone is the only thing left to see. Every other decision on this piece follows from that one.

At the distance people actually stand from each other, the eye needs a line to follow. A silver chain gives it one. A clear cord does not — so what registers is a single stone, apparently resting on the skin.
It is why the first question is almost always whether you got a dermal.
The cord and the setting are identical across all four. The only thing that changes is the stone — and each one reads differently from across a room.
A dermal gives you the look permanently. A chain pendant gives you a chain. This sits
between the two, which is the whole reason it exists.

★★★★★Three people at work asked if I had got a dermal. One of them did not believe me until I took it off.
Danielle R.Round
★★★★★I am far too scared of a needle for an actual dermal. This gives me the exact look and I can take it off at night.

★★★★★Wore it every day on holiday and got more compliments on this than on anything else I own.
Emma T.Pear
★★★★★I cut the cord pulling a jumper over my head. Found the spare in the box and had it back on in a minute.
Sarah K.Verified buyer
★★★★★It sits right in the dip of my throat and stays there. I stack it with two chains and nothing tangles.

★★★★★In the sun it throws light like something that cost a great deal more than it did.

A metal chain is the thing the eye locks onto first. Take it away and the stone is the only thing left to see. Every other decision on this piece follows from that one.
Smaller and it reads as a bead at conversation distance. Larger and it stops looking like something set into skin and starts looking like costume jewellery.
The cord is the one part a zip or a jumper can cut. A second one in the box turns that from the end of the necklace into a one-minute job.
A clasp sitting at the side of the neck is the tell. Moving it to the nape keeps the whole front of the piece uninterrupted.
No. It is a necklace. The stone hangs from a clear cord that fastens behind your neck, and it comes off the same way any necklace does.
Up close, yes — hold it in your hand and the cord is obvious. At the distance people actually stand from each other it disappears, which is why the dermal question comes up as often as it does.
In photographs it depends on the light. A direct flash can catch it; daylight generally does not.
There is a second cord in the box. It is the most common thing to go wrong on a necklace like this, so it ships with a spare rather than a warranty form.
It is adjustable. Worn short it sits high in the nape and the hollow of the throat, which is where the illusion holds best. Let it out and the stone drops towards the collarbone.
No. It is cubic zirconia, cut and faceted. At 2 ct it reads the way a diamond does at conversation distance, and that is the entire point of the piece — but at this price we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Take it off. Not because the stone minds water, but because a fine cord is easiest to damage when you are not thinking about it — pulling a towel over your head, or turning over at night.
Yes, and it is the easiest piece to layer, because there is no chain to knot into the others. It sits closest to the throat and everything else hangs below it.
Round is the one mistaken for a dermal most often. Heart is the one people notice from across a room. Pear and oval sit between the two.

niece wants one now
my niece saw mine at easter and asked her mom for one immediately. she is twelve and thinks it makes her look older which i guess it does. she has been saving up for one since.
good size
The two carat stone is bigger than I pictured but not gaudy at all. It sits right in the dip of my collarbone when I let the cord out a little. Tightened up it moves to my throat instead. I switch depending on what I am wearing.
ordered twice
The four shapes made it hard to choose so I ordered twice. Round for work and pear for going out has been the right split.
delicate and pretty
It is fine and light without feeling like it will fall apart. I have had it on through two months of everyday wear. No sign of wear on the cord yet.
nice for the price
Good value and it looks more expensive on than it did in the listing. The adjustment is a bit basic but it does the job fine.
